CONDOLENCE TO THE FAMILY OF ARMEN ARSHALUYS SIMONYAN, HONORED SCIENCE WORKER OF RA, HONORARY PROFESSOR OF THE PROVINCIAL STATE UNIVERSITY, HONORARY CITIZEN OF THE PROVINCE

On behalf of the scientific council of Gavar State University, co-founder Hranush Hakobyan, the rectorate, administrative, teaching and student staff, we offer our deepest condolences to the Simonyan family, all relatives, highly-earned scientist and educator, honorary professor of Gavar State University, founding head of the Department of Biology, Ecology and Healthy Lifestyle of GSU, doctor of biological sciences, professor, honored figure of science of the Republic of Armenia, honorary citizen of Gavar city Armen On the occasion of the end of Arshaluysi Simonyan's earthly life. At the invitation of the founding rector of Gavar State University, Hrant Khachatur Hakobyan, he set about establishing the biology, ecology and healthy lifestyle chair of the university's natural sciences faculty, and worked at GSU for 26 years with full responsibility, great love and dedication. Professor Simonyan was born in 1932, in the city of Gavar, in the family of a teacher. He graduated with honors from the Faculty of Biology of Yerevan State University and from 1960 to 2019 worked at the Institute of Biochemistry named after Hrachya Buniatyan of the RA National Academy of Sciences as the head of the Embryo Chemistry Laboratory, and at the same time at Gavar State University as the head of the Department of Biology, Ecology and Healthy Lifestyle. Armen Simonyan, passing the Armenian Biochemical School created by academician Hrachya Buniatyan and Moscow M. Academician S. Lomonosov State University Severini and academician V. Skulachyov Biochemical and Bioenergetic Scientific Schools, created the evolutionary bioenergetics direction and its own school of bioenergetics in Armenia. The professor participated in several congresses of the European Biochemical Society with reports. He gave separate reports at the universities of Prague, Leipzig, Gothenburg, Stockholm, and Berlin. He is the author of more than 400 scientific works (some of them in English) and monographs. Professor A. is also fruitful. Simonyan's work in the field of professional lexicography and creation of modern Armenian biological unified terminology. Academician Armen Simonyan A. In co-authorship with Galoyan, he compiled "Russian-Armenian Biochemical Explanatory Dictionary" (500 pages), which is the only one of its kind in the Armenian language, and whose glossary includes more than 5000 terms and concepts used in biochemistry and molecular biology, their explanations were given, and a unified Armenian biochemical terminology was developed. The "Russian-Armenian-English biological dictionary" (900 pages) published jointly by Armen Simonyan, GSU ​​professor, candidate of biological sciences, and associate professor Ida Batikyan deserves special attention. The dictionary includes more than 8000 terms related to various fields of biology. A dozen candidate theses were defended under Mr. Simonyan's leadership. He founded the Chair of Biology, Ecology and Healthy Lifestyle, performed consistent work in the training of young biologists and ecologists, while strengthening the cooperation between the university and the Institute of Biochemistry of the National Academy of Sciences. By the decision of the Council of Elders of the Gavar community, Professor Simonyan was awarded the title of honorary citizen of Gavar for his active scientific and public activities. And by the decision of the Scientific Council of Gavar State University, Armen Simonyan was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of Gavar State University for the services rendered by the university, for his irrevocable scientific and pedagogical merit. The professor was a member of the scientific councils of the Institute of Biochemistry and Gavar State University, as well as the Republican Association of Biochemists and its presidency. Taking into account the significant scientific contribution of the professor to the creation and development of the direction of evolutionary bioenergetics in the republic, the training of scientific personnel, the introduction of scientific results in agriculture, his huge contribution to professional lexicography, as well as his great merit in the university system, Armen Simonyan was awarded the honorary title of the honored figure of science of the Republic of Armenia by the decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia through the mediation of the Scientific Council of Gavar State University and the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia.
