THE REGULAR WORKSHOP OF EU “ERASMUS+ T-GREEN” PROJECT WAS HELD

The regular workshop of EU “ERASMUS+T-Green” project took place at the Jagellonian University in Krakow, the Republic of Poland. EU “ERASMUS+T-Green” is a project aimed at post-bachelor education reforms. The main aim is to reflect and implement the principles and structures of “green education” policy in Master level, to implement future-oriented, “green” and interdisciplinary curricula, promoting the academic mobility of students, developing joint and double degree educational programs.
Vice-Rector on Educational Activities of Jagellonian University — Armen Yedigaryan welcomed the workshop participants. The Armenian professor touched upon the current challenges and new opportunities facing education, in particular, the issues of using artificial intelligence in the educational process and the legal regulations for the implementation of micro-qualification programs.
Representatives from partner universities participated in the workshop: Yerevan State University, Gavar State University, State Economic University of Armenia, National Polytechnic University of Armenia, French- Armenian University, Eurasia International University, National Agrarian University of Armenia, Goris State University, as well as the National Center for Quality Assurance, “Erasmus Students’ Network” and “Hope Bridge” non-governmental organizations.
From Gavar State University, Nelly Kutuzyan- Vice- Rector on Educational and Scientific Affairs, Lilit Torchyan – Head of Foreign Relations and Media Department, Hakob Ghuloyan – Head of the Chair of Accounting, Gurgen Muradyan – Chief Accountant and lecturer at the Chair of Accounting, participated in the workshop.
During the workshop, EU partners presented the experience of “green education” development policies, the implementation of educational programs granting joint and double qualifications in Hellenic International University of Greece, Catholic University of Portugal, the Jagellonian University of Cracow and Mykolas Romeris University of Lithuania. They also highlighted the topics on credit accumulation and transfer system and academic mobility programs.
GSU delegates actively participated in the trainings and discussions, presented the experience, challenges and emerging problems of Gavar State University in the implementation of academic mobility programs, and also the ways for solving them. The further actions within the framework of the project were outlined.

ACADEMIC MOBILITY OPPORTUNITY IN ALMERIA UNIVERSITY OF SPAIN FOR GSU ACADEMIC AND ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF

Gavar State University announces the organization of a selection contest of candidates for academic mobility at the University ofAlmeria, SPAIN within the Erasmus+ programme.

University of Almeria, Spain offers 1 mobility grant for teaching or training.

The amount of staff scholarship is 1120€, plus travel allowance.

THE FINAL WORKSHOP OF THE “ERASMUS + FLEXWBL” PROJECT TOOK PLACE

The final workshop of the European Union funded “ERASMUS+FLEXWBL” project was held at Liepaja University of the Republic of Latvia from October 23rd to 28th, 2023.

The project is dedicated to work-based learning and was implemented in three universities of the Republic of Armenia: Gavar State University, Brusov State University and the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia. European partner universities are: Linz university of Austria, Klaipėda university of Lithuania and Liepaja university of Latvia.

The workshop began with a welcome speech delivered by the project coordinator Patriks Morevs. He presented the implemented activities and their outcomes within the framework of work packages.

Rector of Gavar State University Ruzanna Hakobyan made a speech, highlighted the importance of proper implementation of the right to education in a rapidly changing world full of challenges, the rooting of the culture of lifelong learning, the effective organization of work-based learning, referring to the forced displacement of more than a hundred thousand Armenians from Nagorno Karabakh, the violation of rights to education and other fundamental rights of many pupils and students, ensuring the continuity of their education in the schools and universities of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the need to prevent violations of the right to education using international legal mechanisms.

The representatives of member universities of the project presented their work carried out in 2019-2023, noting about the review and updating of content, methods and documents of educational programs to meet the goals of work-based education.

Lilit Torchyan, Head of the Foreign Relations and Media Department of GSU, presented the results of the implementation of  European Union “ERASMUS +FLEXWBL” project at GSU.

Project discussion took place with external evaluators. The participants of the workshop visited the structural units of Liepaja University, met with the responsible persons and discussed ways of further cooperation.

The workshop was also attended by the Head of the Chair of Informatics and Physical-Mathematical Sciences – Varazdat Avetisyan, Lecturer of  the chair of Accounting, Faculty of Economics, Chief Accountant – Gurgen Muradyan, Lecturer of the chair of Foreign Language and Literature, Faculty of Philology – Narine Nalbandyan.

THE DELEGATION HEADED BY PAVEL PEZZI, VICAR TO POPE OF ROME, VISITED GAVAR STATE UNIVERSITY

Gavar State University hosted high-ranking clergymen, nuns, pilgrims from Italy, Poland, Russia and Belarus, led by Cardinal Pavel Pezzi, Vicar to the Pope of Rome. The GSU Rector Ruzanna Hakobyan, warmly welcomed and expressed her gratitude to the guests for making a pilgrimage for peace-loving purposes, according to the resolution of His Holiness Pope Francis: “A visit to the first Christian country”. In her speech, the Rector mentioned as an unforgettable event the ecumenical liturgy dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide offered by the Pope together with the Catholicos of All Armenians, the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia and the Catholicos-Patriarch of the House of Cilicia on April 12, 2015 in St. Peter’s Basilica of the Vatican, as well as proclaiming the Armenian talented clergyman, philosopher, scientist St. Gregory of Narek as Cosmic Patriarch. Highly appreciating Narek’s “Book of Prayer” referred to as “Matean Voghbergutyan”, the Pope described it as the spiritual constitution of humanity. The Rector also emphasized that Gavar State University has close partnership ties with Italian universities of Pavia, Tuscia, Sapienza in Rome, Ca’ Foscari in Venice and other universities. GSU students spend part of their education in Rome and other Italian cities, they also study Italian, visit the Vatican and return with unforgettable impressions. GSU professors conduct short-term teaching in Italian universities, participate in conferences and seminars.

Referring to the alarming situation in Artsakh, the Rector conveyed to the Bishop the Statement of the Council of Rectors of State Universities of the Republic of Armenia regarding the need to prevent the humanitarian disaster in Artsakh.

Expressing His gratitude for the warm welcome, His Excellency Pavel Pezzi appreciated the activities of Gavar State University in the region, emphasized the role of education and science in modern times and expressed hope that humanity will follow the path of universal and unconditional love and solidarity defined by St. Gregory of Narek.

By decision of the Academic Council of the University, the Rector awarded Pavel Pezzi, the Bishop of Moscow and the entire Latin Catholic Archdiocese, Vicar to the Pope in Russia, Co-Chairman of the CIS and Baltic Christian Inter-confessional Committee, with a title of Honorary of Doctor of Gavar State University for the spiritual, cultural, moral education and upbringing of the young generation and for the merit of spreading humanitarian values and the implementation of a peace-loving mission.

The Head of the Pilgrimage Service in Russia, the Abbot of the Catholic Church of Vladimir, Sergei Aleksandrovich Zuev and the Polish nun Kisiel Jolanta, received letters of gratitude from Gavar State University for their contribution to the spiritual and cultural education of young people.

The Rector expressed special gratitude to the honorary philanthropist of GSU, Deacon Gevorg Vahan Gevorgyan, for constantly supporting the University and implementing charitable projects.

The guests visited the University’s History Museum, got acquainted with the activities of the University and watched the film dedicated to the history of GSU.

They prayed to God for the peace and solidarity of the biblical country and the whole world, continuing their pilgrim’s path to the unique Cross-stone Field of Noratus.

T-GREEN PR

The ERASMUS+ CBHE T-GREEN “Transforming Graduate Education for Green and Sustainable Future” project, co-funded by the European Union, was launched on April 4, 2023.
The project lasts for 3 years, is coordinated by the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia (NUACA) and co-coordinated by the Eurasia International University (EIU).
The T-GREEN project addresses the need of reforming graduate education in Armenian in support of the Green Deal and enabling the shift from traditional to future-oriented, green, and interdisciplinary curricula, as well as by promoting student mobility and designing collaborative degree implementation schemes.
Capacity building of national and institutional administrators, decision and policymakers, educators, researchers, and students to integrate the Sustainable Development Goals targeting environmental issues into policies and educational content will be the core of the project. Another central objective of the project is to create a network involving national authorities, HEIs and other stakeholders to engage in horizontal and vertical collaboration: to this end the national and institutional regulations fostering joint, double or multiple degree implementation and promoting student mobility, credit transfer and recognition will be enhanced and piloted.
Strategic revision of the national list of professions enabling the licensing of new, future-oriented, interdisciplinary, and green master’s degree programs, as well as collaboration structures developed will contribute to further initiatives also beyond the project timeframe.
Armenian participants of the project are: RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, Sports, National Quality Assurance Center, Yerevan State University, Eurasia International University, State University of Economics of Armenia, French University of Armenia, National Polytechnic University of Armenia, Armenian National Agrarian University, Gavar State University, Goris State University, “Erasmus Students’ Network Yerevan” NGO and “Bridge of Hope” NGO.
EU partners are Hellenic International University (Greece), Mykolas Romeris University (Lithuania), Catholic University of Portugal (Portugal) and Jagiellonian University (Poland).
During the online Kick-off meeting of the project (April 4-5, 2023) the main provisions of the program were presented, the Work-packages were touched upon, the persons responsible for the implementation of the work and the deadlines were presented.
From Gavar State University, the project online kick-off meetings were attended by the Vice-rector on Scientific and Educational Affairs Nelli Kutuzyan, Head of Chair of Accounting Hakob Ghuloyan, Head of Foreign Relations and Media Department Lilit Torchyan, Specialist of the same Department Siranuysh Mkrtchyan.

STATEMENT: WE INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ENTITLED “FOLKLORE AND LITERATURE”

The Faculty of Philology of Gavar State University invites specialists from the Republic of Armenia and abroad to participate in the international scientific conference entitled “Folklore and Literature”  to be held on June 10, 2023, within the framework of the research project on “The Daredevils of Sassoun” epic and the European epic tradition” funded by the RA Ministry of ESCS Science Committee under the code 21T-6B038.

The conference will be held in a hybrid, live-online format.

The directions of the conference are the following:

a) modern issues of folklore, the epic “The Daredevils of Sassoun” and the European epic tradition,

b) modern issues of literature.

The working languages of the conference are Armenian, Russian and English.

The reports must not be previously published.

The publications must meet the following criteria:

  1. The scientific report should be between 5 and 10 pages, in Armenian, Russian or English, with a computer layout, on B 5 size printing paper, in “GHEA Grapalat” font, with 1.12 line spacing, with 18 mm margins on all sides of the paper, pagination: at the bottom of the page (footer), orientation: center, margins: 1cm.

At the top, indicate the title in 10.5 pt font size (in capital letters, bold), one line below the title in the right corner in 10.5 pt font size, indicate the universal decimal classification code of the article (ТДД, UDC, УДК), then the author(s) surname, first name (Bold), academic degree and title (start with a capital letter, on a new line), position held (start on a new line), one line below the author’s e-mail address is presented, leaving one line open, in 10.5 pt font size, italic ( Italic) and the summary of the report (аннотация, abstract) is presented in bold original language, where the goals, problems, methods of the research, as well as the author’s main conclusions and recommendations containing scientific innovation should be reflected.

The English summary of the article is mandatory and should be between 150 and 250 words, if the material is not in English.

  1. 2. Skipping one line, it is necessary to write “Key words” (bold) and indicate the key words.
  2. Skipping two lines, narrate the work in 10.5 pt font size, indicating at the end also the day, month, year of submission to the editorial board, list of used literature and references to literature. Citations must be made in the form of a computer reference, with sequential numbering for reporting (from the first to the last reference).
  3. At the end of the report, write in 10.5 pt font in two languages other than the language of the essay: the title of the article, the author(s) surname, first name, scientific degree and title, the position held, the e-mail address of the author(s), summary and keywords.
  4. Latin and Greek letters, symbols, as well as formulas must be compiled with the “Microsoft Equation Editor 3.0” program, explanations to the pictures and tables must be presented in the form of a picture with a font size of 10.5 pt.
  5. It is necessary to submit an opinion about the presented scientific report or the recommendation letter of the relevant department or scientific organization.

Submissions that do not meet the requirements will not be accepted.

The transfer should be made within five days only after the acceptance of the article by the editorial board of the GSU Scientific Articles has been confirmed.

Organizing Committee of GSU Scientific Conference

 

A COOPERATION AGREEMENT WAS SIGNED

Today, Rector of Gavar State University Ruzanna Hakobyan and Vice-Rector of Grozny State Oil Technical University named after Academician M. D. Milionshchikov, Doctor of Economic Sciences Rustam Salgiriev, signed a memorandum of cooperation. The agreement envisages the following directions of cooperation: educational, research, exchange of experience, implementation of additional educational programs for students, etc.

The first joint initiative will launch from July 10 to 24, 2022. During the mentioned period, 20 GSU students will leave for Grozny to participate in the “Summer University” program, organized by the partner university and headed by the university professor Armen Sahakyan.

All costs are covered by the receiving party. Mr. Salgiriev presented a video material and a presentation on the history of Grozny State Oil Technical University, mentioning that in 2020 the university celebrated its 100th anniversary.

The meeting was attended by the members of the GSU administrative, academic staff, students and representatives of the parent community, who received answers to their questions about the “Summer University” program, education and recreation, as well as they expressed their gratitude to the University of Grozny for the opportunity given to GSU students and for further cooperation.
